I always put off packing. I like to be organised early enough that I'm not rushing, but I postpone the decision making and inevitable disruption for as long as I possibly can.
I think it just makes me feel unsettled. Belongings and order uprooted temporarily, albeit for good reason.
And then there's the desire to pack light... Oh dear!
I have yet to achieve that, although I'd love to. I'm sure it must be possible, even when packing for the British climate with any amount of weather/temperature permutations...
Are you a skilled packer? Can you travel light regardless of your destination?
I've come to the conclusion that for me it's not so much the unpredictable weather that makes the decision making hard, but my desire to take a huge selection of colours to choose from. I always know when I wake up in the morning what colours I need to wear that day - I can feel it - the ones that are absolutely right for my mood, the day etc, and it may sound ridiculous, but if I don't wear them I feel all wrong!
So for now I'm letting myself off the hook and I'm not packing lightly or heavily. I'm packing colourfully. Destination... happiness!
Now enough of this procrastination...
