It's working! My breakfast doodles are keeping me off the internet first thing in the morning and have evolved in a way I wasn't expecting.
The first few days I did some fun doodling and then without intending it to, it turned into product design. Ideas for new things to make and playing around with designs that might work... Useful Stuff.
And then yesterday morning it became day planning! A sort of artistic interpretation of a day plan, but really useful and kept me focussed all day, with tasks broken down into manageable chunks of time. All in a visual layout that works for me. Oh, and I've been more aware of my breakfast as I'm eating it too!
So, surprising outcomes so far from choosing pen and paper instead of a screen first thing. It reminds me a bit of the evolution that happens when you do 'morning pages' from The Artist's Way.
What helps keep you on track, away from bad habits?
Other unrelated good news (I don't know if you'll see this Freda but I said I'd let you know how I got on) - I finally paid all my bags of coppers into the bank! Yay! I often use the Post Office to pay money into my bank account as it's nearer, and the post office lady didn't even look twice at all the coppers. I snuck them in with my takings from a market so that probably helped. Obviously the post office isn't as fussy as the banks!
Look what I found flowering in the village a couple of days ago!
