I'm home, and back online now too. I've swapped sea spray and sunsets for frosty mornings and icy puddles, and at least for today, clear blue sky and sunshine to welcome me on my first day home.
It inspired me to spring clean the kitchen, which feels like a good start to the new year. I haven't completely finished, there's still the under-sink cupboard, some shelves and the drawer of doom to sort, but everything is shining now and it feels better...
It also fits in with one of the two words I've chosen for 2017. They are Clarity and Care.
I chose two because Clarity is more of a wish really. I've known it would be this year's word for a while - there are lots of things I need clarity about, but you can't really force it. Clarity tends to come as a result of other things, or in random moments when you're not looking for it.
Care is my action word. It's about taking better care of the quality of my life. Taking care of myself, my home, my garden, and lots of little things in between. My well-being in general. And finding nice ways to do that without pushing myself into stress or exhaustion.
More on this as I go I think, my seven hour drive yesterday and all the cleaning today is catching up with me...
One more thing. If you don't have a word for this year don't worry, it appears American Express have it covered. According to this flyer...
Do you think we can sue if they're wrong? :-)
